Welcome to Aurora Grove
- Aurora Grove is situated just east of downtown Aurora Village.
- This is a family-oriented neighbourhood that revolves around excellent schools, as well as recreational trails and a bike path.
- The neighbourhood streets are winding and the terrain is hilly.
- The southeast pocket of the neighbourhood has only recently been developed.
- This neighbourhood is extremely quiet as shopping and community centers are located on the periphery of the neighbourhood.
- The architecture is typical of houses from that time period with Neo-Colonial designs that feature brick exteriors, roofs with street-facing gables and front-of-the-home attached garages. There are also some pockets of newer estate homes situated in the south end of the neighbourhood that was built in the 2000s and features elaborate portico entranceways and built-in double car garages.
- Activities enjoyed at Sheppard’s Bush include over three kilometers of hiking trails, eleven soccer fields, two picnic pavilions, and several historic buildings including a maple syrup evaporator hut and the Sheppard family house.
- The Aurora Cultural Centre is based in the former Aurora Schoolhouse at 1886 Church Street. This beautifully restored building is a landmark right off Yonge Street. The Aurora Cultural Centre offers a myriad of programming from instructional classes for all ages, to gallery exhibitions, concerts and events, and summer arts camps. Their facilities are available for rent by community groups, local schools, and for special events.
